Hyderabad: Senior IAS officer Syed Ali Murtaza Rizvi has resigned from his post and opted for voluntary retirement with effect from October 31. While the exact reasons for his VRS remain unknown, speculations are rife in the State Secretariat circles that he was miffed over his frequent transfers — four transfers within two years, and decided to pursue personal goals by opting out of service.
Rizvi, who joined the service in 1999, is left with eight years of active service. He was currently serving as Secretary for Revenue (Commercial Taxes and Excise) and also held full additional charge (FAC) as Secretary for General Administration Department (Political). He could not be reached for comments.
Following Rizvi’s resignation, the State government placed Commercial Taxes Commissioner M Raghunandan Rao in FAC of the post of Secretary for Revenue (Commercial Taxes and Excise). TG Genco Chairman and Managing Director S Harish has been placed in FAC of the post of Director of Endowments, relieving Shailaja Ramaiyer from FAC of the post.
Bhavesh Mishra, Deputy Secretary for IT and Communications Department, has been placed in FAC of the post of Director, Mines and Geology, relieving Valluru Kranthi from FAC of the said post. Siddipet Additional Collector (Local Bodies) Garima Agrawal has been transferred and posted as Additional Collector (Local Bodies) of Rajanna-Sircilla district.
