Khammam: Muslims should actively engage in social service activities to serve the needy, stated the principal of Idara Ashraful Uloom, Hyderabad, Hazrat Moulana Muhammad Abdul Qavi.
Addressing a gathering of the community intellectuals, doctors, lawyers and businessmen here on Sunday, he advised the parents to impart spiritual knowledge to their children along with academic knowledge right from childhood.
The meeting was organised by Idara Taleemul Islam Trust to discuss importance of serving humanity in the light of Quran and Hadees, establishing schools to offer modern education to children in Islamic environment and other subject matters.
In view of changes taking place in the field of education across the world and in India, Moulana Muhammad Abdul Qavi advised the educationists in the community should strive to equip the students with the capacity to display good behaviour in the society and emerge as responsible citizens.
Qavi stressed on the need of parents and educationists sparing their time to see that the children taught Islamic studies. He noted that Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, who was the first Education Minister in independent India, made great efforts to increase literacy rate in the country.
