Set up Saudi Consulate in Hyderabad, Gulf association appeals to KTR
In a statement here on Wednesday, GTWCA president Patkuri Basanth Reddy said a Saudi Consulate in Hyderabad would help in curbing the problems of Gulf victims.
Hyderabad: Gulf Telangana Welfare and Cultural Association (GTWCA) president Patkuri Basanth Reddy has appealed to NRI Affairs Minister KT Rama Rao to initiate moves for the setting up of a Saudi Consulate in Hyderabad.
In a statement here on Wednesday, Reddy said a Saudi Consulate in Hyderabad would help in curbing the problems of Gulf victims. “Many workers from Telangana are working in Saudi and the migration of workers continues. In the past, discussions were held between Telangana and Saudi government regarding setting up of a Saudi Consulate in Hyderabad but nothing concrete has come of it till date,” he said.
Appealing to the workers heading to Saudi to cross-check the situation there and not to rely only on the assurances of agents, he said: “If one is not skilled, then it is wise to get trained here in Telangana and head for Saudi later,” Reddy said.
