Nizamabad: The Congress said that Nizamabad MP Dharmapuri Aravind should resign from his post if he can’t set up a turmeric board as promised, and urged him to fight along with farmers. Nizamabad District Congress Committee president Manala Mohan Reddy conducted a meeting with turmeric farmers and members of the farming community who contested in the 2018 general elections at DCC office on Sunday. The farmers and party leaders discussed the need for the turmeric board and the negligent behavior of the Nizamabad MP.

Speaking on the occasion, Manala Mohan Reddy said that Nizamabad MP Aravind has been engaging in unnecessary discussions and he is not interested in setting up of the turmeric board. He demanded the MP take action immediately to set up the board, or resign from his post.

Sunketa Ravi, who contested in the 2018 elections, said that the MP had deceived turmeric farmers to win the elections. Aravind had promised to set up the turmeric board within five days after winning the Lok Sabha elections. But now he is saying that there is no need for a turmeric board, and he would set up Regional Office of Spices Board. Ravi demanded that since the office was of no use for the turmeric farmers, either the MP should set up the board or resign from his post.

Kisan Congress president Muppa Gangareddy, NSUI district president Venus Raj, Kola Venkatesh, Sunketa Ravi, Praveen Reddy, Shekhar, Santhosh, Lingaiah and others attended the meeting.
