Seven held for cockfights in Telangana’s Mancherial

Police seizes Rs 59,780 in cash, seven mobile phones, 10 roosters and four motorbikes from their possession

Mancherial: Seven persons were apprehended on the charges of indulging in banned cockfights in the forests of Bopparam village in Kotapalli mandal on Sunday. Police seized cash in Rs 59,780, seven mobile phones, 10 roosters and four motorbikes from their possession.

Kotapalli Sub-Inspector Rajender said that Janagama Mallaiah, Pottala Rajender, Venkat, and Sunarkar Rajesh from Kondapet village, Durgam Ramesh, Chippakurthi Bapu of Nagampet village and Gandla Ravi belonging to Kalmpet were arrested while committing the offence in the forests, following a tip-off.
