Seven held for murder of cook at eatery in Dundigal

Hyderabad: The Dundigal police on Saturday arrested seven persons on charges of killing a cook at an eatery allegedly suspecting him of stealing valuables, on December 27.
The arrested persons are Rakesh, Mani Venkatasai, Vinay, Munna, Satish, Sampath and Mohd. Azharuddin. The absconding person is Bhagyalakshmi.
The victim Ramesh Sahu (35), a daily wage worker and a native of Srikakulam in Andhra Pradesh, had come to the city in search of work was working and was working as a cook at an eatery near Gandimaisamma area owned by one Rakesh.
According to the police, on December 27, Rakesh’s mobile phone and some cash had gone missing and over suspicion, he questioned Ramesh. Rakesh and his mother Bhagyalakshmi beat Ramesh with sticks due to which he died on the spot.
Then, the duo, with the help of Rakesh’s friends, dumped the body at a secluded spot at Sainath Society in Bahadurpally. The Dundigal police booked a case and with the help of the footage from surveillance cameras, identified and nabbed them.
