Seven medical students punished for ragging at Kakatiya Medical College

Kakatiya Medical College, Warangal suspended seven third-year MBBS students for six months and expelled them from the hostel after they allegedly ragged juniors, following complaints lodged with authorities and police over the incident

Warangal: The authorities of Kakatiya Medical College (KMC), Warangal have taken disciplinary action against seven MBBS third year students for allegedly ragging juniors.

The students in question were said to have been suspended for six months and expelled them from the hostel for the entire course period. It was said that some second year MBBS students have made derogatory comments against the third year students in their WhatsApp group.


The third year students who came to know about the comments of the second year students recently wanted to punish them. They summoned 20 second year students to the hostel terrace, forced them to kneel, to apologise and to promise not to repeat such behavior again.

One of the students recorded the incident on his mobile phone and complained to National Medical Council (NMC) and to Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS) authorities besides lodging a complaint with Warangal commissionerate police.

Following the complaints, the college authorities took action against the erring third year students.
