Seven new judges likely for AP High Court

Hyderabad: There is a likelihood for largescale appointment of judges in Andhra Pradesh High Court.
The collegium headed by Chief Justice of India NV Ramana which met on January 29 here, has recommended the names of seven senior lawyers for promotion as judges–Ravi Cheemalapati, Gannamaneni Ramakrishna Prasad, Konakanti Srinivasa Reddy, Vaddiboyina Sujata, Satthi Subba Reddy, Tarlada Rajasekhar Rao and Nimmagadda Venkateswarlu. The list was submitted to the President of India Ram Nath Kovind for his nod.
The number of posts of judges in AP High Court are 37 and at present there are only 20 judges functioning. After the appointment of the seven new judges which appears to be a formality, their number will increase to 27.
