Seven-year-old boy crushed to death by iron gate in Dundigal
A seven-year-old boy, Aakash, was killed when an unsecured iron gate fell on him while playing with his younger brother at a construction site in Bowrampet, Dundigal. Police have booked two builders for negligence and are investigating the incident.
Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, a seven-year-old boy, who was playing with his younger brother, was crushed to death after an iron gate fell on him at Bowrampet in Dundigal on the suburb on Thursday.
According to the police, the boy Aakash, a Class I student, was staying with his parents Naveen and Meena and younger brother, originally from Kukunoor village in Veldurthi mandal of Medak district, here in Bowrampet for the past ten years.
Aakash’s grandparents, Yadaiah and Pochamma, work as watchman and domestic help at an under-construction building in the area.
On Thursday, Aakash and his younger brother accompanied their grandmother, who had just arrived from their native village, to the site.
While playing there, suddenly, a large iron gate fell on Aakash. He suffered grievious injuries and died.
Police said the gate had been left standing against a wall without being fixed to the entrance frame, leading to the fatal accident.
Based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s family, the Dundigal police have registered a case against two builders for negligence causing death and are investigating.
