Seven-year-old girl who went missing found dead in Mancherial
A seven-year-old girl missing since November 24 was found dead in a well at Nambala village in Mancherial district. Her parents allege she was murdered by someone holding a grudge. Police have converted the case to a suspicious death and launched an investigation.
Mancherial: A seven-year-old girl who had been missing since November 24 was found dead in a well under suspicious circumstances at Nambala village in Dandepalli mandal early on Thursday.
Police said Shanigarapu Mahanvita was allegedly abducted by unknown persons while she was playing in front of her house three days ago. Her parents lodged a complaint, following which a missing case was registered on November 25, and police formed special teams to search for her.
Teams searched irrigation tanks and areas on the outskirts of the village, yet her whereabouts remained unclear till Wednesday night.
However, her parents spotted her body in a well near their home at around 6 pm. They alleged that unidentified persons murdered the child. They claimed that someone who bore a grudge against their family might have been responsible and urged police to investigate thoroughly and take stringent action against those involved.
Police said the case would be altered to a suspicious death case and an investigation has begun.
