Several districts across Telangana experience heat wave conditions on Saturday

Hyderabad: As summer starts to peak a tad early this season, several districts of Telangana are in the throes of heat wave conditions.

Adilabad experienced the heat wave on Saturday with the mercury sharply rising to 40.8 degree Celsius, 4.9 degree Celsius higher than the normal. Nizamabad recorded 39.6 degree Celsius followed by Medak with 39.2 degree Celsius


In a special bulletin issued on Saturday, the Indian Meteorological Department – Hyderabad looks at intensification of maximum temperatures and more districts ending up with heatwave conditions in next two days. A day temperature range of 41 degree Celsius to 44 degree Celsius has been forecast for Adilabad, Jagtial, KumaramBheem, Mancherial, Peddapalli and Rajanna Sircilla.

In Hyderabad, the rise in day temperatures was experienced, particularly more during the noon time, on Saturday. For Hyderabad and its neighbourhood, the IMD-Hyderabad forecast looks at the day time being hotter at around 38 degree Celsius till Sunday.

Meanwhile, according to data collated by Telangana Development Planning Society, several parts of Hyderabad had the mercury inching towards the 40 degree Celsius mark.

In the city, LB Nagar was hottest with 39.6 degree Celsius followed by Kapra which recorded a day temperature of 39.4 degree Celsius. Several other areas including Saroornagar, Chandrayangutta, Falaknuma, Secunderabad and Charminar had the temperature above 38 degree Celsius.
