Kothagudem: Indian Scouts and Guides Fellowship (SGFI) members came to the rescue of residents whose houses were inundated in flood waters following the heavy rains that lashed the district on Monday.
The SGFI members organised ‘Annadanam’ for flood victims in the low lying areas under Srinagar Colony gram panchayat, at Indira Nagar Government Primary School.
SGFI State vice president Mohammad Qasim, office bearer Logani Srinivas, school head mistress M Jyothi Rani, ex-Army officer Sk Qader Moinuddin and others prepared the food and served it to the victims.
They said that the residents were not able to light the stove as the flood waters reached into their houses and the cooking utensils were also submerged in water. Lamxidevipalli MPDO, Rama Rao and panchayat secretary Mujahid Pasha thanked the SGFI for their timely response in feeding the residents.
