Hyderabad: In the latest development in the Shabad sextuple murder case, police have reportedly taken Raj Kumar, the prime suspect in the killing of six persons, into custody in Suryapet. However, the police is yet to confirm the arrest.
According to the police, Raj Kumar allegedly murdered a minor girl, her mother and grandmother, and later killed his wife and two sons at Shabad on Friday night.
The family of the minor girl had lodged a case against Raj Kumar under the POCSO Act in May, alleging that he had been harassing the minor girl. The killing of the minor girl and his relatives were to avenge the POCSO case.
Raj Kumar had been on the run following the killings. Police had formed 10 special teams to trace him, and his car was found near Kothur, close to Shadnagar, on Saturday morning, providing a crucial lead in the manhunt.
