Hyderabad: The Telangana Police have placed the Shabad Sub-Inspector, Ramesh under suspension in connection with the six murders reported from Daivalaguda village in Shabad mandal of Rangareddy district, following allegations of lapses in handling an earlier case against the suspect.
The disciplinary action comes amid growing criticism over the handling of a POCSO case registered against 28-year-old Rajkumar in May. The suspect, who is alleged to have murdered six persons on Friday night, had been released on station-house bail after the case was registered.
The decision follows widespread public outrage, with relatives of the victims and local residents alleging that the police failed to take timely and effective action despite earlier complaints against the suspect.
