Shabbir Ali honoured with Bengal Excellency Award in Kolkata

Former India football captain Shabbir Ali was conferred with Joy Bangla Sambad’s Bengal Excellency Award in Kolkata. He was also inducted into the Hall of Fame of Indian football, recognising his legacy in the Kolkata League and Indian football history

Hyderabad: Former India football captain Shabbir Ali was conferred with Joy Bangla Sambad’s Bengal Excellency Award for his outstanding contribution to Indian football.

Shabbir received the award in Kolkata for being inducted into the Hall of Fame of Indian football.

It may be mentioned that Shabbir Ali was one of the biggest names in football in the famous Kolkata League, having also led some of the prestigious teams there.

“I am grateful to the organisers for recognising my contribution to the sport,” he said.
