Shagun Sharma wins gold in sea swimming championship

Telangana swimmer Shagun Sharma won gold in the 1 km sea swimming event at the Goa Sea Pride 2026 championship. Competing in her first open water event, she impressed with strong endurance against participants from across the country

Hyderabad: Shagun Sharma of Telangana won gold in the 1 km sea swimming event at the Goa Sea Pride 2026 – Invitational National Open Water Swimming Championship, organised by the Open Water Amateur Aquatics Federation in association with the Goa Swimming Association.

Representing Gachibowli Stadium Swimming Pool, SATG, Shagun clinched the championship trophy in an event that witnessed high participation from swimmers across the country. This was her first-ever sea swimming competition, where she displayed outstanding endurance and determination in challenging open-water conditions.


She is coached by Ayush Yadav.
