Kolkata: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday said that not a single infiltrator would find a place in West Bengal if the BJP comes to power in the state.

Addressing an election rally at Balagarh in Hooghly district, Home Minister Shah exuded confidence that the BJP would form the government in West Bengal with a full majority.

“The voting for the first phase is almost over. This is my 30th event across Bengal. On May 4, Didi’s (Mamata Banerjee) game will be up. The BJP will form a government in Bengal with a full majority,” HM Amit Shah said.

The Union Home Minister reiterated that infiltration was causing damage to Bengal’s economy and compromising national security.

“Infiltrators are eating away the jobs of Bengal’s youth and the rations of the poor. They undermine the country’s security. As soon as the BJP comes to power here, not a single infiltrator will be allowed to enter Bengal,” he said.

He also accused West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of promoting dynastic politics, alleging that she wants to make her nephew Abhishek Banerjee the next CM of the state.

“The time of Mamata Banerjee is over. The next Chief Minister will be a son of Bengal’s soil who is educated in Bengali medium, who speaks Bengali and, most importantly, a BJP worker. Earlier, Mamata Banerjee’s supporters used to say that you can campaign as much as you want, but they would not let anyone cast their vote. I want to tell Didi’s supporters that if you touch any voter, you will face strict action,” HM Shah said.

Meanwhile, the Union Home Minister urged voters to back the BJP and vote in large numbers in the second phase.

“In the elections on April 29, you have to press the button beside the lotus symbol on EVMs. You are not pressing it just to make someone an MLA or to form a government. You are pressing it to free Bengal from infiltrators,” he said.
