Hyderabad: In view of the Ganesh festival, the Shamshabad Rural police have warned rowdy-sheeters against resorting to any criminal activities and disturb peace during the festival time. Officials bound over 12 rowdy-sheeters for good conduct as a precautionary measure.
These rowdies from various villages coming under the Shamshabad police limits were produced before the magistrate who issued the orders, said Satya Kumar, Sub-inspector (Shamshabad). Officials have conducted meetings with all local elders and leaders and sensitised them. The police are using IT applications and doing geo-tagging, apart from taking complaints from citizens on the Cyberabad WhatsApp number.
“Social media is being monitored closely by teams round-the-clock. Stringent action will be taken up against the mischief and rumour-mongers who use social media to create unrest,” said an official.
