Hyderabad: The ‘Indian Idol 12’ fame singer Shanmukha Priya has now become the busiest music artiste in the industry with several live concerts lined up along with singing offers in films. Now, the singer famous for her yodelling skills is all geared up and excited for her live concert in the city.

“This time we are also trying to experiment with different genres and will present Hindi music in a never-seen-before style. It is surely going to be fun,” shares Shanmukha who will perform at Shilpakala Vedika from 6 pm onwards on October 9.

However, it is not the first time that Shanmukha Priya and Stephen Devassy have collaborated. The musical duo sung together in the show ‘Indian Idol 12’ several times and their performance of ‘Humma Humma’ went viral.

Speaking about working with the pianist again, Shanmukha shares, “He is very understanding and supportive. Although he is an international star, he is very down-to-earth and I have learnt a lot from him.”

Shanmukha Priya says she received immense support from the Telugu audience and also Telugu stars throughout her journey. But, it was a very special moment for her when actor Vijay Deverakonda gave her an opportunity to sing in one of his films.

“Getting such an offer from Vijay Deverakonda sir was in itself a dream come true. And I didn’t expect the offer would be for his next film ‘Liger’. I was on cloud nine throughout that period. Soon after ‘Indian Idol’, I recorded a groovy number for the film and then met my superstar Vijay at his residence,” shares Shanmukha excitedly.

Expressing her gratitude to the makers of the film ‘Liger’, she says, “They happened to watch several of my performances to decide where they can fit my song. It was really beyond imagination for me. I’m really thankful for the opportunity and am eagerly waiting for the song’s release,” she said.

“And as we went to Vijay sir’s residence, it was a magical moment. My mother and I are ardent fans of his. We spent some quality time together which I will cherish throughout my life. Also, as it was a Friday that day, so we were given clothes according to Telugu traditions. It was beautiful,” she recalls.

Apart from ‘Liger’, Shanmukha also has another yet-to-be named film offer. Meanwhile, she is also busy with live concerts. After Hyderabad, Shanmukha will be singing in Kolkata during the Durga Pooja apart from an international tour.
