Karimnagar: District Collector RV Karnan said on Thursday that besides strengthening their financial status, self help groups women were also contributing to the growth of the district.

The Collector was speaking at the Mahila Mahostavam programme organized by Telangana Gramina Bank at DWMA meeting hall here. Karnan said the women, who were getting loans from banks through self-help groups, were developing financially besides taking part in the growth of the district. Moreover, women were also leading in repayment of loans to banks.


Women, who get loans from banks, should develop financially by establishing small businesses, he advised and appreciated Telangana Gramina Bank for helping the financial growth of the women by sanctioning loans to self help groups in a big way.

Later, the collector handed over Rs 31.40 crore worth cheques to 342 women groups from erstwhile Karimnagar district.

Telangana Gramina Bank chairman V Aravind, regional manager Ramohan Rao, DRDO Srilatha, Lead bank manager Laxman, district mahila samakhya president Rajitha, and members of women groups participated in the programme.
