Show cause notice issued to Ashwathama Reddy

RTC authorities sent a charge sheet to Reddy for unauthorised absence from duties from December 6 till date without sanction of leave from competent authority

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has issued a show cause notice to former RTC JAC leader E Ashwathama Reddy for removal from service.

RTC authorities sent a charge sheet to Reddy for unauthorised absence from duties from December 6 till date without sanction of leave from competent authority, causing inconvenience in arranging the substitute and leading to dislocation of work at MGBS.

Earlier, Reddy has submitted an application requesting for sanction of leave from December 12, 2019 to May 5, 2020 for his personal affairs. However, his leave request was rejected and he was advised to report for duty immediately failing which further action will be initiated as per regulations.

The notice said that despite knowing the fact that his request for sanction of leave was rejected, Reddy remained absent from duties till date, which is misconduct in terms of TSRTC Employees (Conduct) Regulation 1963.

The RTC management has now called upon him to show cause and explain within seven days as to why the proposed penalty of removal from service should not be imposed on him, failing which, it will be assumed that he has no explanation to offer and further orders will be passed based on the evidences available on record.

Reddy was given an opportunity of personal hearing which could be availed within seven days during the office hours, the notice added.
