Hyderabad: Cracking the whip on errant teachers who were skipping classwork without prior information and not marking their attendance through the Facial Recognition System (FRS), the Hyderabad district administration served show-cause notices on 183 teachers working in various government schools in the city.
The show-cause notices follow recent Hyderabad District Collector Dr Priyanka Ala’s surprise inspections at government schools in the Old City, Secunderabad, Koti, Jubilee Hills, Khairatabad and other areas. During the visit, the collector found that despite the FRS system in place, 183 teachers did not mark their attendance and were absent without prior information.
Dr Ala directed officials concerned to monitor teachers every day to ensure that they mark their attendance through FRS on time. The responsibility of ensuring that teachers regularly register their FRS attendance and remain available at their respective schools has been entrusted to the mandal education officers.
Hyderabad District Educational Officer Yadaiah said that, as part of disciplinary action, show-cause notices were issued to 183 teachers who failed to mark their attendance through FRS. “Teachers will be suspended if they repeat the same conduct,” he said.
Yadaiah warned that all teachers must be punctual and mark their attendance through FRS to maintain academic standards and discipline in government schools. He said violations of the rules would invite strict action.
