Shriram Group awards scholarships to 134 Class X toppers in Telangana

The Shriram Group awarded scholarships to 134 Class X toppers from government schools across 119 assembly constituencies in Telangana. The initiative under ‘Chaduvuko Telangana’ included State, district and constituency toppers, with scholarships ranging from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 5 lakh.

Hyderabad: The Shriram Group on Thursday awarded scholarships to 134 Class X toppers from government schools across 119 assembly constituencies in the State.

As part of the scholarship initiative under the ‘Chaduvuko Telangana’ programme, one State topper and runner-up, 37 district toppers and 95 assembly constituency toppers, together comprising 134 students, were awarded scholarships during an event held here.

Each constituency topper was handed a scholarship of Rs 1 lakh, district topper Rs 2 lakh, State runner-up Rs 3 lakh, and State topper Rs 5 lakh. The scholarships distributed to students by Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla are expected to partly fund the students’ expenses for their intermediate education, a press release said.

This was the second edition of ‘Mission 10th Class’, wherein meritorious students from across Telangana were felicitated for their outstanding performance in the Class 10 examinations. A total of 632 students have been selected for scholarships under the programme, it added.
