Hyderabad: Natural Star Nani left his fans teasing as he says the excitement and frenzy gets doubled when ‘Shyam Singha Roy’ explodes on the big screens this December. “I am happy to hear whistles and bursting energy from fans. When everything works coherently, the result will be ‘Shyam Singha Roy’,” says Nani, adding that the story is a revolutionary love tale with two diametrically opposite viewpoints.
Nani spoke soon after unveiling the teaser of his upcoming movie in Hyderabad on Thursday morning. In his urge to save the excitement until the theatrical trailer gets released, Nani gave a hint that the movie is a periodical drama of a man who was born to a Telugu mother and a Bengali father. “I was bowled over when I heard the story from writer Janga Satyadev. I felt the story deserves no less than a bigger screen. It would be another visual masterpiece,” he added.
And Nani is all happy to once again share the screen space with Sai Pallavi. “We’ve done magic in the past, and this time it would be double the excitement when the film releases on December 24,” says the Natural Star.
Starring Krithi Shetty and Sai Pallavi as leading ladies, the supernatural thriller is directed by Rahul Sankrityan. The film also features Madonna Sebastian, Jisshu Sengupta, Murali Sharma and Rahul Ravindran in key roles.
Although the film was announced in February 2020, it commenced shooting in December the same year. Shot in various places in Hyderabad and Kolkata, the movie’s release got postponed due to the Covid-induced pandemic.
Brimming with unbridled confidence and energy, Nani said, “I want every film to be experimental when I first sign it. And this is the result of a lot of effort and hard work. We’ve done it with the same vigour and passion as we did for films earlier for delivering the best to our Telugu audiences.”
When a fan posed a query as to how he happened to act with so much ease, Nani replies, “As once famous actor Quentin Tarantino said ‘I didn’t go to film school but I went to films’.”
