Siddipet: Acting sternly against the violators of Covid-19 guidelines, Siddipet police have imposed fines on 899 citizens who were caught roaming on the roads without wearing masks, during the past four days across the district. They collected Rs 8.99 lakhs imposing Rs 1,000  fine on each of the violators in just four days.

In a press statement here on Saturday, Commissioner of Police D Joel Davis has suggested the people to wear a mask without fail, while going out from the home. Since the Covid-19 second wave was spreading very rapidly, the Commissioner has asked the people not to remove their mask until they return home. Saying that the people’s cooperation is very important to arrest the spread of the virus, Davis has advised them not to make visits to any other person’s home unless it is an emergency.

Asking the people to do yoga, meditation and exercises, the Commissioner has suggested the people not to organise or participate in any parties or functions until the situation eases. He has also asked the people not to stand closely at shopping complexes and streets. Davis has said that they will initiate stern action against the violators of the guidelines.
