Siddipet: High Court Judge Justice A Abhishekh Reddy has called upon the poor people to visit local Legal Service Authority offices for free and quality legal aid instead of spending lots of money for hiring lawyers.
Addressing a gathering after inaugurating the Legal Services Camp at Viapanchi Kala Nilayam in Siddipet on Saturday, Justice Reddy said the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) has launched the Pan Indian Legal Services Awareness and Outreach Campaign as part of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav.
Stating that the Legal Services Authority has been carrying out various programmes throughout the country to educate the people on the Legal Services Authority, the High Court Judge said that every citizen in the country will have the right to seek justice. When the complainants were not in a position to hire judges at their expense, he has said that they can simply walk into the District Legal Services Authority or Mandal Legal Services Authority to seek legal aid.
Earlier, Collector P Venkatrami Reddy extended a warm reception to Justice Abishkeh Reddy.
The stalls such as Bharosa Centre, She Teams and Traffic Police exhibited by the Police department were the cynosure of all eyes. Meanwhile, various wings of district administrations, Siddipet Municipality and other government wings have also set up their stalls during the awareness programme. Justice Reddy went through the stalls and interacted with them.
During the programme, he has handed over Rs one crore interest-free loans to MEMPA SHG women. The High Court judge also handed over sewing machines to beneficiaries.
Principal District and Sessions Judge Justice B Papi Reddy, Principal Additional District and Sessions Judge Justice G Neelima, Collector P Venkatrami Reddy, Commissioner of Police D Joel Davis, District Legal Services Authority Secretary Justice Ch Ashalatha, Bar Association President D Ravindar and others were present.
