Siddipet: Hours after a controversy erupted over the remarks of the Gajwel MRO, who was seen asking a farmer whether he had not committed suicide by consuming pesticide, the farmer released another video saying the issue had been settled.
The farmer, Yesu, from Maktha Masanpally village had reportedly met the officer related to land being acquired for the Regional Ring Road (RRR). Yesu maintained in a selfie video that he had already received the compensation and the issue had been resolved. The farmer said the conversation had taken place a few months earlier in the presence of some elected representatives from his village.
However, the local leaders reportedly forced the farmer to make such statements at the behest of the officer. Officials are investigating the incident. Farmers, Opposition leaders and social activists have demanded the government to remove MRO Swamy from office permanently.
