Siddipet: District Collector P Venkatrami Reddy has suspended Belde Srinivas Rao, a headmaster and native of Vemulghat village inThoguta Mandal, for availing Rehabiliation and Resettlement (R&R) package of his NRI son, who has been living in Canada for over eight years.
In a press statement on Monday, the Collector said that Srinivas Rao, headmaster of ZPHS School, Ensanpally, Siddipet Urban Mandal, presented another youth as his son Sai Teja, who lives in Canada.
Since Vemulghat village was being displaced under Komuravelly Mallanna Sagar, all the eligible villagers have been provided with the R&R package. Though Sai Teja lives in Canada, Srinivas Rao applied for the benefit with another youth’s photograph and presented him before the officials. Following a complaint, Venkatrami Reddy instructed Siddipet RDO Anantha Reddy to carry out an enquiry and establish the truth.
Following the report by Anantha Reddy, the Collector issued directions on Monday suspending the headmaster with immediate effect. The R&R amount will also be recovered from him.
