Siddipet: The survey and revenue department officials carried out the survey of lands at Erravalli in Survey No. 325 for the second consecutive day on Friday. The team led by Sudharshan Rathod, Assistant Director, Survey and Land Records, had marked the boundaries of 388 acres of land available in the survey number, which was spread across Erravalli, Shivaru Venkatapur and Varadarajapur villages of Markook mandal.

The farmers, who opposed the surveying of lands on Thursday, had also arrived and raised their voice against the surveying officers. However, the officers had carried out the survey under police security. Over 50 police personnel were deployed to carry out the survey smoothly as they faced serious opposition on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the revenue officials were also going through the documents pertaining to these 388 acres at the local RDO office in Gajwel. The surveying officers said that they would carry out the survey on Saturday as well. All these 388 acres were assigned lands which were given to poor Dalits some 60 years ago.

The same farmers were enjoying the lands by cultivating them until today. Following the survey of the lands, the farmers were worried that the government may take back their lands.
