Siddipet: Siddipet Municipality has bagged two prestigious Skoch national level awards for supplying drinking water to 100 per cent households across the town by laying 190 km long pipe-line.

The civic body is supplying 18.79 million litres per day, and has provided tap connection to all the households at a charge of just Rs one. Municipal Commissioner KV Ramana Chary said the entire credit goes to Finance Minister T Harish Rao who had ensured enough funds to complete the works in time.


He said that Municipal Chairman K Rajanarsu, other elected representatives and municipal officials also played a vital role in executing the works in Siddipet town, the Commissioner thanked the people for their cooperation in making Siddipet a model town in development. The Skoch awards were declared on Saturday during the virtual meeting.
