Siddipet: Setting an example for others, a group of 20 parents of children of a government school at Rampur village in Thoguta mandal came together to raise money to paint the school building ahead of the reopening on September 1.
Since the school building was virtually abandoned since the first lockdown imposed in March 2020, the school building badly needed a fresh coat of paint. With Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao announcing that schools across the State would reopen on September 1, like-minded parents in the village met Headmistress Renuka and expressed their willingness to donate Rs 20,000 to get the building painted before the beginning of the classes.
The group of 20 donated Rs 1,000 each and handed over the cash to the headmaster on Tuesday. Moved by their gesture, Renuka thanked them and assured them that she will get the building painted in three days.
