Siddipet police launch ‘SHE SAFE’ zone on Rajiv Rahadari
The Siddipet Police Commissioner launched the 'SHE SAFE' initiative along Rajiv Rahadari to ensure women and families have secure, well-equipped safe zones at hotels and fuel stations, with CCTV, clean washrooms, and trusted staff. Inspections and awareness drives are underway to strengthen highway safety.
Siddipet: To ensure the safety of women and families travelling on highways, Commissioner of Police, Rashmi Perumal came up with an innovative initiative in the state. She launched a dedicated women’s safety initiative named ‘SHE SAFE’ for those commuting via Rajiv Rahadari.
The core objective of this initiative is to identify secure spaces along the highway where travelling families, especially women, can stop with complete trust and without any fear or hesitation.
The criteria to be declared a ‘SHE SAFE’ zone was that hotels and fuel stations must have safe parking space, quality food, access to clean washrooms access, mandatory CCTV surveillance, well-lit areas and trusted staff. The establishments that successfully meet all these standard parameters will be officially declared a ‘SHE SAFE’ zone’ by the Siddipet Police Commissionerate after thorough inspection.
As part of this initiative, Commissioner Rashmi Perumal visited a few locations along Rajiv Rahadari on Friday. She inspected the existing amenities and provided crucial suggestions and advice to the owners to further enhance their safety standards.
Earlier, the Commissioner held an awareness meeting with commercial establishments along Rajiv Rahadari, emphasising the importance of strengthening women’s safety through proactive measures. Establishments were urged to install CCTV cameras, improve surveillance, and work together with the police to create a safer and more secure environment for every citizen.
She further observed that under the ‘SHE SAFE’ initiative, they are currently identifying key locations along the highway. Over the next month, the lady IPS officer said that they will ensure that all safety protocols are fully implemented at these locations, transforming them into comprehensive ‘safe zones’.
