Siddipet police nab thief for stealing copper from 48 transformers
A seasoned thief, identified as Nandulal alias Madhulal Rajbhar, was arrested by Siddipet police for breaking and stealing copper from 48 transformers across five districts in Telangana. Despite serving jail time earlier, he continued his criminal activities, selling stolen copper to seven buyers.
Siddipet: Habituated to breaking the transformers and removing the copper for gain, a seasoned thief broke 48 transformers across Siddipet, Janagaon, Medak, Yadadri-Bhongir and Warangal districts in less then a year. The Siddipet police nabbed the man while he was moving suspiciously at Vallampatla in Maddur mandal.
The accused Nandulal alias Madhulal Rajbhar, a migrant worker from Uttar Pradesh who migrated to Hyderabad some two decades ago, had gone to jail in a similar case in 2025 after Bhongir police nabbed him. However, he did not mend his ways even after being released from jail as he went on to damage 48 transformers and took away copper from them.
The accused sold the copper to seven persons who were also nabbed by the police. He reportedly earned Rs 10 lakhs from the thefts. The police recovered Rs 6.70 lakhs, three bikes, a tool kit and three mobile phones from the accused. The accused, who was produced before a court, has been sent to remand. The probe is on.
