Siddipet police nab two men stealing copper from transformers
Siddipet police arrested two men from Rajasthan for stealing 185 transformers to extract and sell copper wire. They seized 272 kg of copper, Rs. 3.24 lakh in cash, and a bike. Three accomplices are currently absconding, officials said

Siddipet: Siddipet police arrested two persons allegedly involved in the theft of as many as 185 electric transformers across Telangana to extract and sell copper wire. Police recovered 272 kg of copper wire, Rs. 3.24 lakh in cash, and a motorcycle from them.
The arrested individuals, Mohammad Azharuddin (27) and Mohammad Shakir (28), hail from Rajasthan. Three others — Thelim Khan, Saleem alias Sohail, and Md Akram — are absconding, said Commissioner of Police B Anuradha.
A case was registered based on a complaint lodged by a Transco Assistant Engineer from Kondapak mandal.
During investigation, police found the accused were involved in multiple similar cases. After tracking their movements, police apprehended Azharuddin and Shakir, who were later produced before the court and sent to remand.
