Siddipet: Siddipet district has recorded 17,628 tonnes of fish production and 116 tonnes of shrimp production in the year 2020-21 year as a result of 3.72 crore fishlings and 11.71 shrimps released into water bodies across the district during last monsoon season.
Meanwhile, the fisheries department is preparing to release 4.19 crore fishlings and 12.94 shrimps into 1,472 tanks across the district this year.
They will also release 7.175 lakh fishlings into Kondapochamma Sagar, 3.3 lakh into Ranganayaka Sagar and 2.47 lakh into the Shanigaram project.
To mark the release of the fishlings into water bodies, Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav will release the fishlings into Ranganayaka Sagar on Wednesday.
