Siddipet: Sarpanch of the Sirisinagandla village in Kondapak Mandal, Gudepu Lakshma Reddy, received a threat call from a person who claimed that he was Maoist Party leader Jagan. The person demanded Rs 20 lakh in cash from the Sarpanch. Saying that he knows where his children were studying and what properties he was holding, the man threatened Lakshma Reddy with serious consequences if reveals the matter to anyone.
Reddy immediately called the Commissioner of Poice D Joel Davis and lodged a complaint. The Commissioner, in turn, asked his staff to collect the phone numbers of both and assured the victim of tracking down the accused. Meanwhile, Reddy urged the Police Commissioner to initiate stern action against such persons to avoid such theats in future. The Sarpanch said that he had received the call at 2.08 PM on Friday afternoon. The person asked him to arrange the Rs 20 lakh in cash within 2 hours after 4.30 pm on Friday.
