Siddipet to get 76-km-long Ring Road
Since the ever expanding Siddipet town is experiencing traffic jams quite often, Finance Minister T Harish Rao, who represents Siddipet Assembly constituency, pursued the State government to release the fund for the road.
Telangana Bhavan is illuminated a day ahead of its inauguration in Siddipet.
Siddipet: The State government has granted Rs 160 crore to build a 76 km long road from Ponnala near Siddipet town to Duddeda, aimed at facilitating by-pass of all the traffic coming from Husnabad constituency without having to enter Siddipet town. The two-line BT Road will also act as Ring Road for Siddipet town.
Since the ever expanding Siddipet town is experiencing traffic jams quite often, Finance Minister T Harish Rao, who represents Siddipet Assembly constituency, pursued the State government to release the fund for the road. The Minister said the road will be named “KCR Marg after Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. The Chief Minister, who was born in Chintamadaka village near Siddipet, was elected as MLA for six consecutive terms from here.
Officials said travel distance between Husnabad and Hyderabad will come down by 15 to 20 km once the road work is completed.
The by-pass road will benefit people from Siddipet, Husnabad, Gajwel, Dubbak and Manakondur constituencies who can avoid going through Siddipet town while going towards Karimnagar, Hyderabad, Medak and Warangal. The 76 km long road will begin at Ponnala on Rajiv Rahadhari and end at Duddeda on Rajiv Rahadhari. The road touches 21 villages en route. Harish Rao said that it will not only ease out traffic in Siddipet town but will also benefit commuters. Since the Siddipet town is fast spreading, Rao said having a by-pass road was a must for the town.
