Siddipet tops in vaccine jabs: Harish

Stating that the district topped the list in vaccine administration in the State, the Minister said the remaining eligible persons will be vaccinated in the next few days

Siddipet: Finance Minister T Harish Rao on Friday said 96 per cent of frontline warriors and 88 per cent of the population aged above 45 years in Siddipet district had been vaccinated so far.

Stating that the district topped the list in vaccine administration in the State, the Minister said the remaining eligible persons will be vaccinated in the next few days. “About 1.40 lakh people out of 1.60 lakh identified in the 45 year plus age group have been given vaccination jabs,” he said, adding that vaccines were needed for 20,000 under this category of population in addition to 11,000 vaccination jabs for frontline warriors.

The Minister, who spoke to Health Secretary Vakati Karuna over phone, has asked her to send the 30,000 vaccines to Siddipet immediately.
