Forest officials said that steps were being taken to closely watch the movement of the leopard. They requested farmers to be cautious of the wild animal. They advised the cotton growers to move in groups and to make noise while taking up farm activities. They told the farmers to avoid sudden confrontation with the leopard.
On December 14, Bheema Bai from the village received minor injuries when a leopard, which was on the prowl, pounced on her at her cattle shed located on the fringes of a forest at Dedra village in Bazarhathnoor mandal. She managed to survive by raising an alarm.
