PV Sindhu breezed past Denmark’s Julie Dawall Jakobsen in straight games to enter the Round of 16 at the Li-Ning China Masters 2025. She will next face Thailand’s sixth seed Pornpawee Chochuwong.

Hyderabad: PV Sindhu advanced to the Round of 16 at the Li-Ning China Masters 2025 with a straight-games victory over Denmark’s Julie Dawall Jakobsen, winning 21-5, 21-10 in just 27 minutes.

She will next face sixth seed Pornpawee Chochuwong of Thailand.

In men’s singles, youngster Ayush Shetty put up a fierce fight against sixth seed Chou Tien Chen of Chinese Taipei. After losing the opening game 19-21, Ayush fought back to claim the second 21-12, before going down in the decider 16-21 in a 68-minute play.

In mixed doubles, the Indian pair of Rohan Kapoor and Ruthvika Shivani Gadde were defeated by their Japanese opponents.
