Hyderabad: As part of its business expansion strategy, the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has decided to expedite its ongoing projects.
In this regard, Chairman and Managing Director N Balram directed officials to speed up the execution of all ongoing projects, warning that delays would not be tolerated. Interacting with company officials via video conference from Singareni Bhavan in Hyderabad on Monday, he conducted an extensive review of 28 projects currently under way as part of SCCL’s expansion plans.
These include solar and wind power projects, battery storage, geothermal energy, green hydrogen plants, production of critical minerals, joint ventures, methanol production from carbon dioxide, surface and underground coal gasification, among others.
He noted that while preliminary studies had been completed for some projects and MoUs signed for others, a few were still under study through external agencies. Stressing the importance of these diversification efforts for Singareni’s future, he urged departments to accelerate related activities.
After reviewing department-wise reports, he expressed dissatisfaction with the pace of progress and directed that visible results must be shown across all projects within the next 10 days.
The review meeting also included detailed discussions on rooftop solar power installations over offices and quarters, establishment of coal washeries and implementation of hydraulic conveyors.
