Peddapalli: As part of its business expansion efforts, Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Jawaharlal Nehru Aluminium Research Development and Design Centre (JNARDDC), an autonomous institution under the Union Ministry of Mines, headquartered in Nagpur.
The agreement aims to enable scientific analysis and research on the existence and development of critical minerals and rare earth elements in the Singareni region, while fostering joint cooperation at national and international levels.
The MoU was signed at Singareni Bhavan in Hyderabad on Monday in the presence of SCCL Chairman and Managing Director N Balram. The documents were exchanged between SCCL Director (P&P) K Venkateswarlu and JNARDDC Director Dr. Anupam Agnihotri.
Explaining the objectives, Balram said Singareni has embarked on large-scale business expansion across India and overseas, with a special focus on critical minerals and rare earth elements. He said SCCL was partnering with premier national research organisations that have decades of experience in these fields to advance through technical collaboration and mutual cooperation.
JNARDDC, known for its expertise in aluminium, rare earth elements, and critical minerals, provides technical assistance to national institutions and conducts workshops and awareness programmes in these domains. Singareni’s collaboration with it marks a major step towards long-term research and exploration in this emerging sector, he said.
