Singareni transports record coal in April despite coronavirus situation

He said the SCCL has generated 48.56 lakh tonnes of coal in April 2021 as against 30 lakh tonnes in April 2020 and registered a growth rate of 61.9 per cent.

Hyderabad: Amid Covid-19 pandemic, Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has transported highest quantity of coal in April 2021 from its coal handling plants as against its corresponding period’s coal transport in 2020, according to SCCL Chairman and Managing Director N Sridhar said.

He said the SCCL has generated 48.56 lakh tonnes of coal in April 2021 as against 30 lakh tonnes in April 2020 and registered a growth rate of 61.9 per cent. Sridhar appreciated the efforts of Singareni employees in achieving high growth rate during this pandemic.


He advised employees to adhere to the Covid safety norms while carrying out work in the mines. He said the role of every employee was crucial in achieving the target for the year 2021. At the same time, the Singareni solar power plants have generated 46.95 million units of solar power, he added.
