Hyderabad: Inspired by the Rajya Sabha MP Joginapally Santosh Kumar who initiated the Green India Challenge with the inspiration of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s brainchild programme Haritha Haram, singer Srilalitha planted saplings at Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Park at Jubilee Hills on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, she stressed the importance of planting and protecting trees to save the environment. She thanked Santosh Kumar for launching the Green India Challenge initiative which aims at improving the green cover in the country.
The singer appealed to people that everyone should plant trees to offer oxygen to the coming generations and for making the country green and clean India. Further, she nominated singers Shanmukha Priya, Ramya Behara, and Ram Miryala.
