Hyderabad: West Bengal and two Telugu states – Telangana and Andhra Pradesh – combine topped in all India medals tally, emerged as top one, bagging eight medals each, in the SIP Arithmetic Genius Contest 2021, the largest All India online arithmetic contest.
Jharkhand with six medals stood second followed by Maharashtra with five medals and Assam with four medals. Punjab and Kerala got three medals each while Puducherry, Delhi NCR and Chattisgarh got two medals each, a press release said.
Dr Tessy Thomas, Distinguished Scientist, Director General (Aeronautical Systems), DRDO, Ministry of Defence, gave away prizes virtually to the winners. Speaking on the occasion, she said, “We all have natural intelligence. Intelligence Quotient will increase when you practice through training and testing”.
The 6th edition of the SIP Arithmetic Genius contest organised by SIP Abacus was fiercely fought one with 95,000 students registering from 1,025 schools across India. The contest was conducted in three rounds.
