Hyderabad: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) began questioning BRS chief and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao in connection with the alleged phone tapping case at his Nandinagar residence in Hyderabad.

The inquiry commenced around 3 pm on Sunday afternoon, when a team of SIT officials, including senior officers, arrived at the residence. They made arrangements for Chandrashekhar Rao’s examination in a designated room. As per procedure, he was permitted to have one person present during the questioning. Accordingly, former MP J Santosh Kumar was reportedly allowed to accompany him. Senior advocate Ramchander Rao remained available for legal assistance.

BRS working president KT Rama Rao was also present at the house in the capacity of a family member. Other senior leaders, including T Harish Rao and RS Praveen Kumar, along with legal advisers, were at the residence during the proceedings.

Security was tightened around the premises, with multiple layers of protection, and senior police officers were deployed to maintain order. Several party MLAs, MLCs and leaders gathered at Telangana Bhavan.
