Hyderabad: In a pattern that is now becoming familiar for the SIT probing the phone-tapping case, former BRS Rajya Sabha MP Joginipally Santosh Kumar was grilled for nearly seven-and-a-half hours on Tuesday.
After receiving notices from the SIT, the former MP arrived at the office of the Assistant Commissioner of Police at 3 pm. A large contingent of BRS leaders and cadres accompanied him to the office.
Tension prevailed at the ACP office after former chairman of the State Corporation for Disabled Kethireddy Vasudev Reddy was pushed away by the police while he was speaking to the media.
As the BRS leader was condemning the Congress government’s vendetta politics, a team of police personnel dragged him away. In the melee, Reddy lost control and fell on the road. Videos of the police action circulated on different social media platforms.
Vasudev Reddy questioned the police action, asking why he was being obstructed from speaking to the media.
Meanwhile, sporting a smile, the former BRS MP stepped out of the ACP office after nearly seven and a half hours of questioning. Amidst “Jai Telangana” and “Jai KCR” slogans, he waved at the party workers, who stayed put at the office all through the day.
After questioning former Minister T Harish Rao and BRS working president KT Rama Rao, the SIT had issued notices to the former MP to appear for questioning. Soon after receiving the notices, Santosh Kumar had said that he would cooperate with the officials and answer all the questions posed to him.
He is learnt to have patiently answered the questions posed by the SIT officials during the long grilling session.
