Medak: Former Minister T Harish Rao said Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy was trying to divert public attention by constituting a special investigation team (SIT) and issuing notices to him a few days ago and to BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Thursday.
Addressing a gathering after welcoming former municipal chairperson of Medak municipality and senior Congress leader Surendar Goud, along with several other leaders, into the BRS fold in Medak on Thursday, Harish Rao said that he and Rama Rao were being targeted with notices as they were raising public issues on a daily basis.
The Chief Minister had no answers to the questions raised by them, he said, asserting that the BRS would not step back from fighting on public issues even if the Congress government issued any number of notices.
Stating that they were committed to raising public issues in the role of opposition, Rao said the BRS government led by former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had developed Medak as a new district and also secured a college, SP office, medical college, rail connectivity and several other facilities during a decade of its rule.
He accused Revanth Reddy of dissolving the Medak district and warned that unless voters taught the Congress a lesson in the municipal elections, the government would dare to dissolve the district.
Referring to irrigation works, Rao said the BRS government had constructed several check dams across Manjeera and Haldi Vagu. He alleged that the Ghanpur anicut had gone dry after the Congress came to power, causing hardship to farmers.
BRS district president M Padma Devendar Reddy, Narsapur MLA V Sunitha Lakshma Reddy, Farooq Hussain and others were present.
