Warangal: Inthezargunj police arrested six people in connection with the triple murder at LB Nagar in Warangal on Thursday. The arrested include Md Shafi, younger brother of deceased Mohammad Chandpasha, and his accomplices Boini Venkanna, Md Sajid, Ragula Vijayender, Md Mirza Akbar, and Md Pasha.
Chandpasha (54), a cattle trader, his wife Saber Begum (50) and his brother-in-law Khaleel Pasha (42) were hacked to death at their residence in LB Nagar in Warangal in the early hours of Wednesday.
Disclosing the details at a press conference here, Warangal Police Commissioner Dr Tarun Joshi said the prime accused Mohammed Shafi along with his friends and acquaintances attacked Chandpasha and the others with hunting sickles and knives after sprinkling chilli powder in their eyes.
“Dispute over sharing of property and profits earned thorough the cattle business between Chandpasha and his younger brother Shafi led to the brutal murder of three people. Two sons of Chandpasha sustained serious injuries in the attack,” the CP said, adding that they seized five hunting sickles, a battery operated saw, two autorickshaws and a two-wheeler from the accused.
Stating that the accused had resorted to this brutal triple murder as per a premeditated plan, the CP said: “As part of the plan, the main accused Shafi and his accomplices met for 15 days to plan the elimination of his brother and family members. Shafi purchased five sickles from Hyderabad and a battery-powered saw machine used in cutting trees from Warangal city and hid them in his house. As planned, the accused left for Chandpasha’s house while Shafi piloted them on the two-wheeler. After reaching the house, one of the accused started cutting the doors using the saw. To avoid the attention of neighbours, they revved up the autorickshaws and attacked Chandpasha and his family members killing them on the spot,” the CP said.
The accused escaped from the scene after Rubeena, daughter of Chandpasha, and sons screamed for help which woke up the neighbours. “On hearing their screams, one Azeem, who resides on the first floor of the same building as a tenant, and others reached their house. On noticing them, Shafi and others fled from the house. The neighbours reached there and shifted Pasha’s two sons to hospital,” the CP said.
