Hyderabad: The Task Force (Jubilee Hills), along with local police, nabbed six persons for allegedly posing as qualified doctors and practising medicine illegally during raids at five locations on Monday.

The suspects were identified as D Rama Shekar Reddy (43), R Sudhakar (38), M Bharathi (44), K Mahesh Rao (43), P Bala Narasimha (52) and Mohd Abdul Vali (54).

Police said the suspects were operating unregistered clinics or using pharmacies to provide medical treatment without valid qualifications.

They allegedly administered saline, injections and, in some cases, surgical stitches, while collecting consultation fees from patients. The raids were conducted in Rahmath Nagar, Venkatagiri, Film Nagar and Borabanda.

Police seized syringes, needles, injections, saline bottles, surgical instruments, prescription books and other medical equipment, altogether valued at around Rs 53,000.

The arrested persons and seized material were handed over to the local police stations for further legal action.
